Beggar Prince is a game that was released in 1996 by C&E. The game was originally titled Xin Qigai Wangzi, The New Prince & The Pauper. The game is a Taiwanese RPG game for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis and PC. An American game company known as Super Fighter Team decided to translate the game in 2005 and release it. The game was released in 2006 and was $40 per copy and was the first Genesis game to be commercially released in America since 1998. And since then has been released in 2013 for Windows and Mac. What made me want to play the game? I like games like this.
I like the Prince and the Pauper, I think its an amazing film. And I really wanted to see the 1937 film feature but cannot seem to get hold of it. Hopefully I will in due time. The Prince and the Pauper franchise really inspired me when I was making Pancake Surprise. Well mainly for character personality only my character is tweaked a little. But yeah, the story is really inspiring and I would rather play a game, read a comic or watch a film, than read the original book. I can read very well, but I prefer visual, to just text.

The prince as a character is quite rude. He is bored of his life in the castle. The game adds a little RPG element to it, where instead of learning usual stuff, the prince must learn magic according to the Cat Minister.

The guards will not let the prince leave the castle, so he tricks them by making dog sounds. Then quickly makes his escape.

The prince bumps into a pauper that looks just like him. The prince tells him to switch clothes. He also dubs him stupid, the prince basically wants to trade places for a day. The pauper is hungry, and dumb? So the prince tells him that there is a ton of food in the castle. Little does the prince know that Shatt Kingdom...haha...shatt...means **** over here. Anyway little does he know that the Cat Minister is watching them and wants to take over Shatt Kingdom.

The prince has fun, he buys cakes for himself and eats them all...and goes to the arcade. Arcade in olden times? What? Anyway he is told to leave but refuses to do so but the store manager makes him. He then tells them he will return to the store and buy it. The prince quickly gets sick of being a pauper and wants to be prince again.

The prince gets back to the castle but the guards will not let him back in. He tells them he is the real prince and they do not believe him. The prince gets quite upset and tells them what theyll do if he forces his way in. They tell him they will kill him. They tell him he is dirty and needs to go get a job begging for coins.

You can speak to people in town. A girl is being bullied by a boy who will not let her go near the fountain. The prince tells her he will deal with him.

The prince goes up to the bully and knocks the **** out of him. The prince just keeps punching him. The bully gives up and runs away, handing over the prince a slingshot. What is this Zelda?

The little girl thanks the prince and tells him everyone in town thinks he is crazy. He gets angry, but she tells him she believes he is the one true prince and tells him to find a job. Apparently a wood cutter is looking for someone to work for them.

The prince tries to make friends but the people who live in the town are morons.

The prince is quite fussy when it comes to working, he wont do anything. And that was the Prince and the Pauper. I dont think there has been a game like it, which is quite a surprise. The prince as a character isnt used to the way he is being treated as he is usually waited hand on foot. Im surprised Disney Pixar hasnt cashed in on the story with a CGI film and I said the exact same thing about Oliver Twist. Two films that feature British characters, that show what poverty for what it really is. Begging for food living outside in the cold, and working your butt off until you drop dead. Where did I play this game you ask? Online it was literally on a Flash website. Did you know Flash can now emulate games or something??? I dont know but I played it online.
