Today, Battle.Net banned many Warcraft III accounts found to be using third-party programs. Blizzard finally did something right and managed to get most of the big ones. Blizzards successful invisible ban sweep has sparked new life on BNet, spurring activity in channels. Happy gaming, Warcraft 3 players! I recently had to do a small example of integrating the system I am currently working on into an asp.NET application.  Not having a windows machine handy I though I would give Mono a try.  Fortunately setting up a basic dev environment was really simple.  NOTE: this is a very basic dev environment with no IDE or frameworks installed etc, it was perfect for what I needed but may not be appropriate for full blown development. Currently in use for Diablo III and the Mists of Pandaria beta is the "Battle.net Update Agent" program or "Agent" for short. This program is designed to make game launching and patching more efficient, especially if you have multiple Blizzard titles running on your computer. Agent must be allowed to run in order for you to play our titles which utilize it, so please ensure that any security software you have on your computer is not mistakingly blocking the Battle.net Update Agent. As it currently operates, Agent should shut itself down around ten seconds after closing out all supported Blizzard games. If an Agent process remains running on your computer long after shutting down any supported titles and you need it to close, simply restart your computer. Alternatively, you can manually end the process in Windows Task Manager.

With the upcoming release of Blizzards next games Starcraft II and Diablo III, Battle.Net was relaunched as a central account management for all Blizzard games. Starting with World of Warcraft (by merging WoW account), you can now create a single login for future Blizzard games. Quick heads up - the Battle.net World Championship kicks off tomorrow in Shanghai, China, featuring both World of Warcraft Arena and Starcraft II competitions. The event will feature a "free, six-channel HD broadcast" via the BWC website. Im kinda looking forward to watching this thing; other than the last GSL finals, I feel like I havent watched a major SC2 tournament in a year. Blizzard announced a new automatic matchmaking system to be implemented on Battle.Net. BNet is the popular free gaming service provided by Blizzard to its players for its various titles in the Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo series. This move could be the first in a series of changes to prepare Blizzards old games to use the upcoming Battle.Net 2.0. Blizzard... oh Blizz. Regardless on how much money you get paid, it is kinda lame that you cant even sort out stuff on your side, fix whats needed and smooth your users experience when it comes to bugs. But since this is not a letter for them, lets get started. You are reading this cause... Your "PLAY" button is disabled for any Blizz game thanks to a "update being applied". At the top left corner of your BNet launcher (right below the Bnet logo) you should see an empty micro progress bar... thats where the party is happening at. Click on the Bnet logo there and youll get your prompted menu... where at its bottom you will see the status of the tricky update at 0%. See, Bnet launcher for some reason has issues lately when it comes to updates, and thanks to that no game can be played before the launcher upadte, it gets messy since the damn progress bar is so small and empty that you dont even get what is updating and such or worse... how to fix it, you close and reope...
