Battlefield 4 Double XP Boost Is Now ON Notification

Just a quick post to mention that I noticed Battlefield 4 currently has a Double XP Boost going on. Briefly, for those who arent familiar with what that is (new players, etc); the Double XP Boost means that whatever XP you gain in a round, it will be matched by that same amount, adding to your total XP gained, effectively doubling it! Double XP Boost Example in the End Of Round Details (the boosted XP is the Folly-coloured second bar) Click to see Full Size   I wasnt aware this had started at all, and so I wanted to make a quick post to notify anyone interested... It doesnt seem to be limited to only Wednesdays, as this Battlefield News posting suggests recent bonuses might be ( http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/news/view/this-season-on-battlefield-4/ ), because I have seen it on now for the last couple of days straight... It may possibly be related to the Tournament going on ( http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/news/view/america-and-oceania-take-on-europe-in-the-2...

BBM works well on Sony Xperia Tipo

On october 2013 BBM app finally released for android and ios, the minimum requirement for BBM app is android 4.0 ice cream sandwich so technically xperia tipo should be compatible with BBM. But thats not what happen, when BBM first came on google play store xperia tipo users cant download it, it says  "Your device isnt compatible with this version" like this : Only in the recent update, xperia tipo owners can download BBM directly from google playstore. So now BBM is fully compatible with xperia tipo. But in case you still cant download from google play store, you have to do it manually, heres BBM apk download link on 4shared. Some of my friends report that the BBM does not work using data network but works using wifi connection, to solve this problem make sure you do this : remove any proxy address from your data network setting make sure youre using 3G/HSDPA/HSPA connection, because BBM requires high speed network if still doesnt work, try using different data network provi...

Before Occupy Wall Street Theres Occupy Congress and Its Still On

Crooked lobbyist Jack Abramoff explains in 60 Minutes how he "owned" Congress for years, and how such corruption continues today despite ethics reform. Must be said that even before #Occupy Wall Street, we actually had #Occupy Congress. Except unlike #OWS where everybodys welcome, Occupy Congress was a nice get together for the deep pockets and their lobbyists, for the buyers and the bought, for the owners and the ownee-- who could not admit they were owned and paid for (just listen to Mr. Nye).   At the end of the interview, Abramoff says: "If you make the choice to serve the public, public service, then serve the public, not yourself. When youre done, go home. Washingtons a dangerous place. Dont hang around." You think our elected public servants in Congress would listen to that advice given their 9% approval rating? You want to keep tabs of our reps and their staffers, check out LegiStorm .  Launched five years ago, the site provides a variety of impo...

Begin Android Software Development on Linux

So far my blogs on starting software development of applications with Android has covered installation of Java (the building block of Android applications), the Android SDK (Googles software development kit for Android) and Eclipse (the integrated development environment for Java and Android). Now its time to use those items to actually develop Android software applications. It is traditional to begin programming in a new language by writing a simple "Hello World" program - a very simple application that displays the said message to announce to the world that you are now an Android programmer. This blog assumes that you have some basic knowledge in using the Eclipse IDE and the Java language. However, if you are new to the Eclipse and/or Java, there is a great video tutorial that can be found here (http://eclipsetutorial.sourceforge.net/totalbeginner.html). The same people there also makes a great video tutorial on the Eclipse workbench - the link to that is on the same page ...

BBM for Android Hits 100 Million Downloads on Google Play

BlackBerry, on Wednesday announced that its popular BBM messaging app for Android has touched the milestone of 100 million downloads or installs since its launch on the platform in October 2013. The firm added that around 65 percent of the total 2.4 million reviews for the app were positive and were rated 5-star. "Of course, Android is just one of the four platforms on which BBM is now available. The others, of course, are BlackBerry, iOS, and Windows Phone. So while 100 million installs is a big number, its still just a fraction of the total," the company blog post said. The firm added that BBM for Android users have sent over 1 billion stickers and the firm is achieving 1 billion virtual goods impressions per month in the BBM shop. "All these numbers just go to show the tremendous momentum behind BBM right now." BlackBerry earlier this week on Monday updated its BBM for Android to version 2.7. The new version bring number of new features dealing with...

Bashing Windows on a Mini PC

When news first broke of Ubuntu on Windows (http://blog.dustinkirkland.com/2016/03/ubuntu-on-windows.html) and after checking the date on the calendar I was puzzled as to what was actually being released and how I could actually use it. Even after reading the official releases and watching the news and explanations on the various videos I was still unclear. Then it was announced that anyone could try Ubuntu on Windows just by following some simple instructions as it would be available as build 14316 on the insider fast ring. Next came a multitude of articles from everyone who had tried it but none really helped me understand what it was and what it could do. However everyone claimed it was simple: join the insider program, click a few buttons and Id be up and running. Except it wasnt. Nothing happened. It is ironic that when you dont want Windows to update it does it every time the machine boots yet when you join the insider preview builds program you have to wait for days. Even franti...
