The Whispered World o convida a conhecer o triste conto de Sadwick, um palha�o que parece n�o ter nada em comum com a sua profiss�o. Triste, horrorizado pelo medo de tudo de ruim que possa lhe acontecer, o personagem passa a ver tudo pelo lado negativo, juntando as suas emo��es � tentativa de criar algumas poesias.

O problema � que mesmo sem saber, Sadwick ser� a raz�o da destrui��o do mundo dentro de alguns dias, algo que as pessoas j� preveem enquanto fogem para terras mais distantes � mesmo sem relacionar o fato a qualquer ao pobre jovem desiludido.

Essa hist�ria � jogada com a tradicional f�rmula de Point and Click (apontar e clicar), vista em outros grandes cl�ssicos como The Dig, The Secret of Monkey Island e at� mesmo Machinarium. Aos jogadores cabe a tarefa de prosseguir pelos cen�rios, desvendando os mist�rios que cercam os sonhos de Sadwick.

Para tal, existem comandos de investiga��o, observa��o e outras ferramentas de intera��o com objetos do cen�rio (muito bem mesclados ao restante da cena). Em meio a esta aventura m�gica, muito quebra-cabe�as ter�o que ser resolvidos, enquanto uma s�rie de itens pode ser combinada na mochila. Por fim, permeando a trama, ainda existem as bel�ssimas composi��es (que misturam piano e outros instrumentos) e cen�rios pintados � m�o, com anima��o de alta qualidade que realmente prendem os olhos.
